Wishing you all a really happy new month. What's new with me; for most people, they know I got married recently and it's being one beautiful experience of a life time with an amazing and lovely man as my hubby and destiny partner. So grateful to God.#itsallaboutHim
As you all know, I have been hosting TLC for five years and counting. It's being a journey that started almost five years ago as a youth corper in Nasarawa State. With a 9 to 5 job and some other businesses I run, hosting TLC is one big deal for me. I didn't start this on my own or even dreamt that I would host a conference but God has a way of doing things that may not be part of your plan but His plan for you.
As we draw the curtains on TLC this year, I want to be able to give back and support other people that host conferences. I have decided based on divine direction to share my lessons and more as a convener of TLC. I'm inviting you to stay with me here as I take you on my audacious journey hosting TLC for five years and counting!
I'll be sharing unscripted stories of The making of the conference, building a team, getting high profile speakers, fundraising, challenges and disappointments both on post and video as well as advice and insights that would be helpful to those who intend hosting a conference in the nearest future or if you already host a conference, you'll also find these series useful.
Let's do this! If you are looking forward to behind the scenes of TLC: The making of the conference, please leave a comment below. Would really love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful month of June. Cheers!

Nigeria’s foremost bespoke gifts company, O’lavanda Signature is one: the story of the business delivering awesomeness.
How it all Started
Exactly one year ago, I started operations with the brand name O’lavanda Signature, Nigeria’s foremost bespoke gifts company; curating, packaging and delivering exciting lifestyle product and experience gifts for all occasions. I never knew that I would own a gifts business. I started out just trying to solve a challenge the company I worked for had. It was in May 2016 before Children’s day and I was looking out for ways to sell off some of our products that had a very short shelf life, I discussed with a friend of mine by name Kester. He suggested I take advantage of the Children’s day especially since it was a food product suitable for children. I went out of my way to reach out to some schools to persuade them to buy the products for Children’s day. Some schools already had their own plans whilst most schools suggested I introduce it as a package to them with other products rather than just one product. Of course, I had to give my superior the feedback, and they told me to go ahead. I remember delivering my first order to a school at Lekky County, I was really excited about having to do this... felt good I could gift these awesome kids and as well make some money as well.
Was it what I wanted to do!
I wasn’t so sure if this was what I wanted to do for a long time, but somehow at every point in time when I asked God that I needed to start a business and I was looking for wow business ideas, he kept referring me to this business and that I already had what I was asking for. From May 2016 to November, 2016. I hesitated starting. I felt it was pedestal. And I remember a word I received one day while I was driving back, that I could create something extraordinary out of the ordinary and that’s when I started thinking, writing and putting down my thoughts about O’lavanda Signature.
Yes! We started anyways
We officially started out in February 2017 under the brand name O’lavanda signature with bespoke birthday gift and wedding souvenirs. It’s being an interesting journey. As we turn one today, our core aim is to keep delivering awesomeness all over the world, one gift at a time.
For every gift we curate, we like to ensure that it has the awesomeness factor from the gift selection to curation to branding and packaging. If you ever receive a gift and it’s awesome, then it could just have been from O’lavanda Signature. Most of our packaging are designed by us and are eco-friendly as we adopt green practices in our business value chain.
A life full of Awesomeness
I wake up every day excited not just about the work I do but the opportunity to gift thousands of people and inspire happiness in a way I could never have done if I hadn’t taken the bold step to start this business a year ago. I sit in my office sometimes and my heart is full of gratitude for this gift of being in a business that summarizes the kind of life I would like to live, a life where I don’t just gift people things but experiences that would change their lives in ways they never imagined.
I truly live an awesome life and I’m going all out to create an awesome company that would change the concept of gift-giving in Nigeria not just today but in the future. Starting O'lavanda Signature has been one of the most interesting things that I have done in my life. I feel myself growing each day, have made some mistakes but learnt from it all the same and for me, this has made the journey priceless. I stretch myself each day and ensure that I go the extra mile to learn all I need to in order for me to be the best at what I do. I'm doing the things I never thought I would do and this makes it more exciting! Life is an opportunity to truly live out and maximize one's potentials. In permitting myself to truly live an awesome life, I'm discovering the many opportunities available to me and a version of myself and life that I truly love because I started anyways.
The Journey so far
We keep our vision at the top of all we do which is to be the most preferred gifts company for exciting product and experience gifts. We have gifted over 360 people including awesome individuals, celebrities and people in government, top companies and Organizations since we started and have our turnover in seven figures.
We are looking at having our own gifts studio and launching our own signature products that inspire happiness and signature experiences that promotes total well-being. We don’t know how to think small, we are big thinkers: we want to change the gift- giving narrative in Africa, blending the art and science of gift giving with extreme creativity to create gifts that truly make an awesome difference.
So what’s #the365challenge about?

Today is my birthday! yea...words can't explain how grateful I am to God for the gift of life. This year came with it's own challenges and high points but It's being a year that's being worth it for me because God always comes through for me and for this, I celebrate the goodness of God in my life. ....Happy birthday sis! So on this special day, I'll like to share a chapter of my life with you which prompted the book SET YOURSELF FREE, a life changing gift from me to you.
Growing up as a child, I had big dreams and still do. I wanted a quality of life that was beyond just having money. I wanted to live a wealthy life that was full of rich experiences, quality friendships and have an
authentic lifestyle that was enriching, purposeful, sold out to God, emulative and with financial
abundance to explore life and be the most awesome version of myself. That's not too much to ask from life I guess. My reality was to have a great and fulfilling life that reflected all that God wanted me to be
I remember few years ago, precisely 2014 as I sat in my cozy room at my apartment in Reading, UK. I wrote a letter to my self which I shared in the book. At that time, I felt I was held down by my fears, people’s opinion and everything within me that won’t let the eagle in me fly. To be honest, I cannot clearly remember the scenario but one thing I knew was that I was holding back and needed to release myself to manifest! I had taken a long stroll and silenced the things that mattered to me.
Three years after, I’m living the life I love with awesome relationships, an authentic life that I enjoy with God as my source, the love of my life, running my own business and loving my dream job. It all didn’t happen just like that. It started with me understanding the place of God being my source and most important in my life, one of the non–negotiable values that I would not trade for anything in this world and other things of which I would be sharing a bit in the book. I want you to start the journey just like I did years ago but it starts with you taking the time to access wisdom and taking that leap of faith to get to where God wants you to be.
So the book SET YOURSELF FREE was written with you in mind, so you can give yourself the permission to go after the things that matter to you, don’t be afraid to explore, don’t hold back to the possibilities of your gifts and who you can become.
I hope this book would be the gift that would inspire you to take responsibility for your life and give yourself a chance to not only dream big but experience the best of life. So let’s get started. I’ll be taking you
on a 28 day journey filled with advice on how to set yourself free as you truly follow your life’s calling
and prepare yourself to have and live the wealthy life. It’s going to be fun, intriguing and insightful!
Thanks to family, awesome friends and fans that have being here all the way! God bless you all.
When I look at this picture, I took three years ago, it reminds me of a lot of things. After a very funny experience, sleeping in a sitting room of a cottage in UK with one of my sweet and amazing friend Omalicha...and our hustle and bustle mixed with favour the next morning at the university's gym as I got ready to travel to USA for my friend's wedding.
In the midst of your helpless times, God always sends angels. I really appreciate Ene and one of the families at Porter's house for their amazing support.
I just planned to enjoy the trip to Georgia, have as much food as I could and also watch a lot of movies. It was British Airways, you can imagine..it was one of my best trips ever...so loooved the BA experience, unforgettable it was.
It was not as cold as I thought it would be, that was relieving. This amazing friend of mine, Tolu was at the airport to pick me up. I met Tolu in church at one of our services back in Nigeria. On seeing her, I knew she was different. She had an aura of grace around her and she is frankly one of the most cultured, decent, intelligent and disciplined woman I know. She is also very God fearing. So we got talking and I invited her over to my house, we talked about God, faith, marriage and life in general as well as our future plans. It was like I had known her for five years. As the host, I gave her a treat of my favourite wine and fried turkey.
She later told me, she would be travelling for her masters and kinda heard too she would be getting married soon. We kept in touch while she travelled to US and while I traveled to UK. I told her, I would come for her wedding. Little did I know that the words we speak have a way of being tangible and by God's grace, I was there.
She took really good care of me during my short stay at Georgia and went the extra mile before I traveled to Maryland. The family I stayed with and her husband, awesome people...plus giving me the opportunity to listen to their love story. This picture was taken on the first Sunday after her wedding. Thanks Tolu for being an amazing person and God bless your family. Keep shining!
We are still friends till today but most importantly I learnt that when we connect with the right people and make an effort to reach out to people we admire and invest in true friendship as well as be a true friend. It has a way of changing your life in a positive way and bringing you bigger, better and awesome opportunities plus sweet memories you never ever imagined.
So was just in my office this morning o...and all of a sudden, Google sent me a notification.
I was reluctant at first to check it but I kinda changed my mind in a split second and what did I see ....a picture I took four years ago on the 13th of July, 2013 at an event organized by Sam O Salau. It was my third or so speaking engagement after my NYSC. Guess how I felt when I saw the pic.. I was surprised, I smiled and then I laughed...a laughter of gratitude and as usual said what people would normally say 'how time flies'.
I must say thank God for my journey so far. It's been so enjoyable and worthwhile and it can only get better.
Thanks Sam O. Salau for this opportunity you gave me four years ago. I'm grateful. Thanks to all the amazing people that have influenced my life positively and contributed to where I am today and thanks to those who will also contribute to my tomorrow. Thanks and God bless you all.
If you know me too well, I don't take gratitude for granted. Its one of the values that have traveled with me through life and is one of my success secret. I even keep a gratitude diary.
So feel free to check out your own history and picture gallery, find out what you were doing on the 13th of July, 2013 and post your own #throwbackstory.
Enjoy your day!
So many people know about my first book, the Journey of a Higher Life , published first in Nigeria and two years later, a revised one was published in UK, but they do not know the story behind the book. I was divinely instructed to write the book after I passed through three painful years of my life. I would say, it was painful but gainful at the end.
I never planned to be a writer and I remember thinking to myself, 'who would ever publish this book ..'It's a Christian genre'. 'I am not a pastor neither am I a pastor's daughter'. 'Was I qualified to write a Christian book' were thoughts that garnered my mind at that time. I remember my publisher telling me 'that I should forget about publishing the book and publish something else in another genre' and his partner convincing him that it was a good one, he believed in it and they should publish it.
As a corper in the northern part of Nigeria, I had to come back to Lagos and planned the Book Launch, made all the preparations for the final book editing and printing within two weeks.
A day to the book launch, I remember my Dad sitting on the dining chair at the sitting room in my brother's house asking 'where is the book you said you wrote' ...obviously it was a day to the book launch and the book wasn't yet ready.
On Nov 4th, 2012....The Journey of a Higher Life was launched, an event that changed my life significantly and my life's story.
In few weeks, I would be launching the audio book of the Journey of a Higher Life. The story behind the book is a walk to remember.
I'm specially inviting you to join me at the Lagos Christian Book Chat Meet Up as I share about the story behind the book, writing and publishing tips and much more. So sorry that is strictly for ladies though but the audio book launch would definitely be for both 'guys' and 'girls' . So stay close!
